What I Wear to Work*

If I'm "at work" I'm in one of three outfits. Solid black head to toe if I'm at the studio, pajamas if I'm blogging, OR (the most fun job when it comes to getting dressed) fashionable outfits of my choice, if I'm at the store.

For those of you who don't know, I work for the Limited at one of our local stores here in Ohio. I am lucky enough to represent a brand that helps empower women and is always giving back to the community throughout the year, be it through fashion or anything else. What I love about getting dressed for work is the fact that the clothes are ridiculously adorable, making it easy to put outfits together, yet we are given just enough leniency to style them to suit our individual personalities. The one thing that is great is that we can wear non Limited pieces as long as they are black and white so on those days that you are just not feeling it, you are allowed to throw on a few pieces from another store, within reason. Now I know what you're thinking, "The Limited isn't that budget friendly to the modern day 20 something year old is it?"  but you are mistaken.  If you play your cards right you can catch the clothing on 40% off sales, Buy One Get One 50% off days, or simply stalk the sale section where there are new markdowns monthly! Even if you do think it's still pricey for your current clothing budget please consider this: for the quality of what you are paying for, spending a couple extra bucks won't hurt! As I've always said, there are certain items in a woman's closet that you have to spend on, and work clothes are no exception. So today I am showing you a week's worth of my recent outfits for work.

Now not ALL of the clothing below is from The Limited, so those pieces will be noted below their respective outfits, but all things Limited will be linked as long as it is in stock so you can buy it too!  Hope you enjoy this behind the scenes peek into my work life!

Monday
Earlier this week, we had a floorset that debuted this AH-MAZ-ING blouse! I mean seriously. From far away it looks like a simple satin-esque blouse with multi colored stripes, but up close you will notice that the colors blend together like a watercolor painting. To style this blouse I wore nothing but black everywhere else, to really let it stand out and be the center of attention.

Blouse / Blazer / Tassel Necklace (sold out online) / Pants: Target / Boots: Marshalls

Tuesday
We got this blouse months ago, and I instantly loved it but never bought it. Then one day I saw it on one of my coworkers and couldn't resist any longer, because it looked amazing on her. I like to layer mine under a simple cable knit sweater and Navy blazer, both of which you can get at my store, so the print peeps out just enough! My cognac slouch boots complimented the whole look fantastically.

Pants / Sweater (similar) / Blouse (out of stock online, check stores in sale section!) / Blazer / Boots: Steve Madden

Wednesday
Right now, if you walk into any Limited nationwide, you will see a shop full of nothing but navy and green which, hello! I mean, can we just take the time to talk about how perfectly these colors go together! The blouse I have on in this look we actually got a couple months back, but the blazer if fairly new to the store. It is lightweight enough to not be fussy if you wear it all day, but sturdy enough to keep its shape. I paired mine with white skinny jeans and cognac booties because blues and greens go great with brown!

Pants / Blouse / Blazer / Booties: Liz Claiborne

Thursday
So right off the bat let me say this blazer is not from our store.  Just so you know. But in real life you don't often wear an outfit that is 100% from a single store. Real life requires you to purchase pieces from different stores and find a way for them to be paired together.  My necklace, sweater, and pants are from my store, but the jacket goes really well with it so why not! When I wore this outfit to work I actually just wore the sweater with the pants, but to go out after work with friends, I grabbed my blazer real fast and hit the town!

Sweater (other colors) / Pants / Necklace&Earrings / Blazer: Target Clearance / Shoes: Target

Friday
This look is a total steal! No, I don't mean steal as in bargain, I mean I stole it, kinda. The woman who styles all the girls (the mannequins) at the store does such a fantastic job that every once and while I totally copy them. The store's look was super similar to this except I swapped out a denim jacket for a black blazer because when in doubt.....blazer it.  I then added my own accessories and my Tory Burch flats!

Blazer / Blouse / Pants / Flats: Tory Burch / Necklace: Target / Earrings: Homemade

 Saturday
I am actually pretty happy that it's still FREEZING outside so I can still rock this cute scarf we got a couple weeks ago. In yet another example of mixing a small print with a bold print, I layered the oriental flowers scarf, over a striped sleeved sweater.

Jeans / Scarf (blouse version here) / Sweater / Booties: Bakers

Sunday
Sometimes by the end of the week my creativity has gone straight out the window and I find myself in "blouse+pants+leopard print shoes" mode because let's face it, that never fails. Luckily enough for me, The Limited offers tons of brightly colored pieces that look great with any print and a simple pair of black skinny jeans. The blouse below is the coral version of the green blouse from Wednesday's look. If you like what you see, you can walk into any of the Limited stores and ask about the 'Ashton Blouse'. We offer it in about 8 colors and a couple prints online! I also sized up with this one, so that it has the extra flowy look.

Blouse / Jeans / Loafers: Steve Madden / Necklace (similar)
