DIY Free Wall Art!

Why pay the price for amazing decoration for your room, office, or closet?  Here I will show you a quick and easy way to spend less than $12 and get amazing home-made decoration.

What You'll Need:
1.) Old Shoe Box (with cute design) I picked my Tory Burch box
2.) Cheap Picture Frame
3.) Cardstock (if frame doesn't come with an optional matte
4.) Complementary Paint Color
5.) Nail
6.) Pen

Step 1.  Remove back of frame and using the paper that came in the frame, cut out a piece of cardboard or card stock to the same size.  Then use the matte from inside the frame to trace a line, this will be your general guideline to how much space you will need your final design to cover.

Step 2.  Unfold all the edges of your old shoe box so it lays flat.
Step 3.  Trim all the unfolded edges off of the shoe box.
Step 4.  Cut 3 pieces of your choice from your shoebox.  I used the lid, and the two longest sides of the box to create 3 panels of design & lay out your pieces on the floor to make sure they are all roughly the same width, they don't have to be perfectly even as the matte will cover any imperfections.
Step 5.  Place your panels on your back piece of card stock.
Step 6.   Where there are any gaps, mark a small line.
Step 7.  Pick a complementary paint color.  I used the inside color of my box for inspiration, and went with a lime green.
Step 9.  Roughly paint (over those pen lines you made earlier to show where your gaps were), using the color of your choice, across your card stock so that when the panels are laid back down you can see color between them.
Step 10.  Glue your panels down accordingly and frame.  Matte down first, then your final design layout, then the backing to the frame.
Now have fun using scraps from old shopping trips, tags, perfume strips, and more to create extra designs for your closet!!! More designs to come.....stay tuned.
