Low Calorie, Low Cost Turkey Chili - The Perfect Winter Meal

Eating out can be expensive, so today I'm sharing with you all a super fool-proof and delicious recipe for low-fat Turkey Chili.  It's a fairly simple, one pot meal that any budget foodie can whip up quick, and let sit until you're ready to eat.  Nate and I indulge in this dinner favorite at least twice a month during these cold winter days and it fills us up and gives us about 6 hearty bowls worth of food.  Best part is it only gets better the longer it sits, even after you re-heat it's leftovers. The total cost is about $10-$15 depending on your grocery store and for a price like that I just couldn't keep it to myself any longer. So let's get started!

What You'll Need:

1 1/2  tbsp Olive Oil                                                             2 Packets Chili Seasoning
1 16oz can of light red kidney beans (drained)                    1 28oz can of diced tomatoes
3 tbsp light brown sugar                                                       Salt & Pepper
1 bundle of green onion (chopped)                                      1 red onion (finely chopped)
1 pack of 90/10 ground turkey

1.) Throw your brown sugar, turkey and both onions in a pot with your olive oil on medium heat.

 2.) Mix together....

3.) And cook until turkey is about halfway done.

4.) Mix your chili seasoning packet in.

5.) Stir until turkey is completely covered and broken down.

6.) Mix in beans

7.) Add whole can of diced tomatoes & stir. Let simmer for 20 minutes on low heat.

Serve your chili with cheese and top with remaining green onion, for presentation.  Nate and I love eating it with crescents or biscuits. Enjoy!!
